This evening Mom and I went to a Polish festival, there was a lot of polka and dumplings and hand-knit things, and guess who we saw exiting the festival? Jim Francesconi, Portland City Commissioner and a prime candidate for the next mayoral election! The street was empty and we walked right by him, exchanging smiles and polite hi's. It was weird because I've seen his face on so many newspaper covers.
