That's great! And you could very well find an au pair job from this site. Most families do want you to have some childcare experience, but that can include a lot of things: have you ever been a summer camp counselor? Babysat for neighbor kids or family?
The challenge for me is that to contact any of the families on greataupair, you have to be a paid member (something like $30 for a month), and I just can't afford that. All I can do is add a family I'm interested in to my hot list, and wait and see. Theoretically, the family receives an e-mail indicating my interest, but a lot of families (not all!) ignore their hotlist completely and only contact au pairs that they find on greataupair on their own. Add to this the fact that I'm picky and only want to work in a Scandinavian country, and things become difficult.
Strangely, though, in the last week or two I have suddenly become inundated with e-mails from a ton of excellent interested families, all of whom I would love to work for. I'm struggling to answer them all. My secret? I went to another website, http://www.aupairworld.net. There seem to be a lot of Scandi families on this one.

So things are possibly looking up!
