So. Going through my edge-of-adulthood crisis (yeah, the one they never tell you about). The not-quite-quarter-life crisis. The I've-gone-to-school-for-thirteen-years-and-I'm-burnt-out-and-now-I'm-supposed-to-go-for-four-more-years(at minimum)-and-the-work's-a-lot-harder?! crisis. I've been in college for almost 1 1/2 years. I've dropped out of French. I'm failing sociology and even my beloved fiction writing, for god's sake. What's a relatively-smart-and-kinda-talented girl to do? Why, run off to the wilds of Alaska for four months to work on a trail-building crew, of course!

[Disclaimer: Probably not Alaska, but it sounds cooler than Oregon or Washington.]

College can be a great place for some people--it's a big melting pot full of different people and ideas and opportunities--but it's not always the best choice for everyone. College isn't the only way you can be successful in life.
