My secret removal and disposal of my grandparents's hideous Yes on 36 yard sign was all for naught. The disappearance of the Cursed Sign has caused Grandma to take on the issue like it were her very own righteous crusade. Today she proudly proclaimed that she has put up a new sign and that if she catches someone trying to take this one, she'll rush outside and give them an earful. By the way, she's getting these signs from her church. This church is also urging all of its members to vote for Bush. I don't understand how a church can get away with this: I thought that because churches are supposedly non-profit organizations, they must remain non-partisan or risk losing non-prof status.

Well anyway, to tell you the truth, I didn't feel very good about myself when I ripped out that sign and tossed it into a dumpster. That's not a very mature, intelligent way to get my point across. Although at the time, I was mainly concerned about the fact that the sign misrepresented our houshold, as only 2 out of the 4 occupants actually support this amendment, and that it would be a beacon of discrimination for all to see.

But I'm not giving up, oh no. What I'd really like to do is get my own No on 36 yard sign and plant it right next to theirs, but I know the grandparents would not stand for that. Even though I believe that I as a voter and a member of this household should be able to express my opinions and not let others speak for me. No, what I am going to do is make my own cute sign out of posterboard and put it in my bedroom window. That way at least others will know that there is someone in this household who does *not* support constitutional amendment 36.

P.S. Oh no! Christopher Reeve died! :(
